Research shows mRNA vaccine boosts cancer immunotherapy in early human trial data

New preliminary data from the Netherlands Cancer Institute suggests a new cancer treatment combining immunotherapy with an mRNA vaccine is safe and effective against solid tumors, according to New Atlas. 

Until now, this CAR-T cell therapy had proved to be a groundbreaking new treatment for blood cancers but was difficult to make safe and effective on solid tumors. Of the 14 patients in the trial evaluated for efficacy, six showed significant reductions in tumor size with one undergoing complete remission lasting at least six months after the trial.

The new CAR-T mRNA combo therapy for cancer treatment is just one of many exciting new treatments offering hope to cancer patients around the world.
