Evanston, IL to implement the U.S.’s first reparations program for Black citizens

The Evanston City Council will vote later this month to approve a measure which would allocate an initial disbursement of about $400,000 for housing needs, and residents will be eligible to apply for a designated $25,000 of this to use towards home improvements or mortgage assistance.

Biden administration declares anti-LGBTQ credit discrimination illegal in the U.S.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), under the direction of the Biden administration, has announced it will now include discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual discrimination within discrimination outlawed by the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA).
