There’s so much hand-wringing in the progressive world in America right now about who’s the most “electable” candidate for president. We are so traumautized by who’s in office now, that we are just madly trying to find whoever has the best shot of beating him. We’ll settle.
I think this is a terrible mistake. If anything, what Trump has taught us is we simply can’t play it safe. It’s not safe to play it safe. He was the least “electable” candidate ever and he won. Hillary was “safe” and she lost.
I’m pleading with you: over the next several months, fight for who you want; not who you imagine other people want. If we all do this, I think we might be surprised at what we find out about one another and what we all really want.
